Some time back, Hack-a-Day had a posting on PCB track width and current carrying capability. This set me wondering if I might be able to do something similar, So I quickly put together this PCB:

The design kind of grew of the few hours it took to lay it all out. I noticed that there was a large vacant area on the back, so I filled with some example text at different sizes. This turned out to be the best part, as it quickly allows me to check how legible the different text sizes are. 0.6mm seems to be the limit, but numbers and capital letters are kind of legible at 0.5mm. I see that JLCPCB have recently introduced a new high quality silkscreen process, but it's very expensive at the moment. I haven't got around to testing via and track resistance/current capability yet.
