My wife loves her rotary fabric cutter, however the long lasting blades eventually are no longer sharp enough to cleanly cut multiple layers of fabric. Instead of throwing this one away, she wanted it re-purposed as a thread cutter. For some projects, she will chain a series of triangles of fabric together into squares so as to make a bunting like chain of squares. Each piece will be joined by a few threads that then need to be cut off from each other.
It didn't take long to design something up that was self standing and would help protect fingers from accidentally cutting skin. The design:
