These are a bit longer than a D Cell battery and can hold around 5500mAhr at 3.7V or 20.35WHr of power.

I purchased 4 of these 143gm TrustFire babies recently from dx.com - just to have a play with.

I knew the battery tabs from element14 would take some adjusting, so I just did a quick mock up design and print. Sure enough, I found I had to lengthen the holder by a further 2mm and strengthen the ends to cope with the clip tension:

It took around 1.4hrs to print out on a Felix printer:

A nice evening project.

Nice work Paul!

PLA? I'd need that 2" thick to pull 2C I'd reckon ;) Great tweak though! What are you going to use these cells for?

Keep up the good work.

Hi BJ,

might help if I tick 'Notify when a reply is posted'.

Yes, PLA. Not too sure what I might use them for. Maybe the GIS-Pi project? I did see a number of battery sellers at the Shenzhen SEG building. Some had some handy flat battery packs. I wanted to purchase a number of them so I could mount them under the circuitry, as opposed to adjacent too. This would help with the size issue I have with GIS-Pi. of course, if I just bung the batteries into the back pack, and have thick twin-flex wire running to GIS-Pi, that would work too :)

I noticed that I haven't posted the battery Clip URL: http://au.element14.com/keystone/209/battery-sizes-accepted-aa-a/dp/908708

The STL file for these can be found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1577619
