Irfrared Library

Hi Guys,

I made a universal remot the other day and thought I'd share the great library that made it all possible very quickly. Basically you can use the demo receiver project and a 3 terminal 38khz IR detector to "read" your remote and work out what code it uses.

My DVico usb remote uses the NEC standard, so it then just becomes a matter of re-transmitting from your arduino with an IR led.

Here is my blog on the ongoing progress: here

The link to Ken's blog on the whole IR thing is here

Cheers

Bj

Cool project Bejay,

I have often wanted to remove the unneeded buttons from my remotes.

I'll add that to the very long projects to do list.

It is very handy, getting rid of those uneeded remotes and having a universal remote that doesn't need batteries to keep it alive after teaching it each button is priceless.

Well done, it's how remotes should be...simple and get the job done
