Universal Snap Fit Clip System

Post by parkview » Sun Aug 14, 2016 3:32 pm

Have a laser cutter and want to be able to clip MDF/Acrylic sheets together? Stephen found this system:

I cut out a sample on a 3mm MDF today:

It feels secure and was a tight fit - which is good. I don't know how often you could repeatably remove and re-clip it though. At least the clips would be easy to cut out again if one broke.

Nice one, I think they are designed as a single fit and not meant to be removed once clipped together, more for assembling something

Yes looks very permanent. Once you design it into a box it might be a little hard/impossible to remove.

Perhaps true, but at least with the 3mm MDF, they can be broken up and removed without damaging the two pieces that they are joining together. It's a nifty design to be sure though.
