another resource really great blog for PCB design and layout, has lots of tips. Main software they use is Altium, but a lot can be carried across to other EDA

Ah, a most opportune post there Stephen. I just figured out how to specify different KiCAD track widths, via the PCBNew | Design Rules | Design Rules form.
