After breadboarding and testing a circuit, I usually the transfer everything onto Vero prototype board. These have strips of copper running end to end. With careful component placement, it can save on hand wiring.

I currently am using these: Part Code: STPBRD2 An old 26 pin RPi socket handily fits at one end.

While not Vero board, I have used the DX part: as it will hold the larger 40pin RPi socket.

These are all handy for single use boards, of course, one could step up form here and make your own PCB boards: (ah, the things we had to do before Adafruit and the Chinese came onto the market! :lol: ), or contract them out to be made:
