Re: Altera Cyclone I 1C6 FPGA board giveaway
Maybe you could hold onto it for a little while. As re get a little bigger, there may be somone who is interested. Maybe it could go into the groups stock of toys for the future. (not that we have one yet, this could be the first donation.... ) It might be good to have one around when you're giving ...

Thingyverse, Can't claim this one. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:151118
I'm still working on my first custom tool holder. It takes a little while to learn what works and what doesn't in terms of printing.

Re: My Felix is on the way.
That one turned out pretty well. I printed it at 50%. When I tried to print it at 100% I ended up with a blob of plastic wrapped around the extruder after 4 hrs of printing.

Re: Simplify3D review
Bearing in mind I'm not 4 weeks into owning a printer... The software that came with the printer was difficult to understand and adjust the slicing. simplify was easier for me to understand and I've had much more success with my prints. Maybe I missed all the good open source/free software but this ...

Re: Uses for an old FAX - The FAX Light
Most android phone will charge in a 500ma charger but the iPhone tend to like 1000ma or better and the iPads need even more.
I've got a very similar motor from photocopier. Might put this one on the soon list.

Re: Tablet Computers
It's the old saying, you get what you pay for. I have a DX extreeme tablet I purchased off the net for $89 and it is soooo slow. Not a great advertisement for android. I could;t tell you any of the details as it's setting on the US pile of equipment in the office. (I could't even use it as a book re...

I for one think it's worth $150. It is much easier to tinker with the settings on my prints.
It also looks nicer...

Thanks Paul,
I've always wanted a o'scope, thought they were cool but have never known how they are used. Maybe a lesson at a meeting some time.

Supposed it bepends on the milliamperes it can output. iPhones are picky about charging on any less than their required minimum..

Re: My Felix is on the way.
The Blue ebay filament has arrived and so begins the epic "Doctor Who Copyright Violation of 2014"
It's doing a pretty good job of printing in mid-air. I suppose I'll se when I get it off the bed in about 3 hours time.

Re: 3D Printing Software
A couple of weeks on, and I've just about printed everything that has caught my eye on thingiverse. Tonight I thought I'd have a go at designing a project from scratch. I downloaded and installed FreeCad on the MacBook. It took a little while and a couple of video tutorials from YouTube but I finall...

Thanks Shane,
but I managed to find one. (I knew grabbing them 5 years ago was a good idea, along with about 20 micro-sd men cards.)
