Many years ago, I came across a great bargain, and purchased a couple of bags of 4A 240V rocker switches. They tend to get used in any project that needs a power switch.

My wife's 12V LED desk lamp switch failed the other day, so I quickly patched in the above switch. Even though it was a 12V, I was mindful that over time the heat shrink could slip out of place, so I designed up a 3D printed cover for it:

It's a solid fit for the switch:

Nice job! What did you use to draw it?

I use Design Spark Mechanical for all my work. To me it seems more intuitive than FreeCAD

It's now up on Thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1644463

I must check that out. I have gotten used to using FreeCAD under linux, and recently the hobby version of Autodesk Fusion 360 for mac. I have recently got a new toy... a delta printer Micromake D1 from kad3d.com.au. It's pretty nice!

How do you find the Delta compared with the other printer?

Quieter, faster, more precision than the Hadron. I like that it has less metal wearing parts too!

Definitely looks like a much more professional job.

Well done Paul :)
