Hey Paul,
It's surprising that your urban location is worse off than mine... I've had good data results from a 1.2m (standard) high weather station with approx 4m2 clear view. Way more accurate that my nearest airport (jandakot)

Re: Reading Airport Weather Data
I like to be my own BOM Funny enough my dodgy Chinese weather station external unit has died last week. Now more than ever, it's time to make an open source arduino / raspberrypi weather station.

RaspberryPi v3 WiFi Antenna Mod
Hi Guys, I got my Pi3 yesterday, and couldn't help wondering if I could get an SMA connector on there to use an external antenna. Well it seems it isn't that hard to get on there and remove the built in antenna. I will do some range tests and see how it goes. So far It is at least 3dB better (twice ...

Re: SDR Hardware??
Hi Guys, Sorry I completely missed this post. I am using a $6 Realtek RTL2832U from ebay. On my netbook at Robofair I was running gqrx from http://gqrx.dk/ which is really nice and lightweight, but won't run on a pi - minimum is x86 2 cores. I hadn't found qtcsdr by that time to run on the pi, so I ...

Re: Perth Curtin University Robofair 2015
I'll give it a go!
edit: Here it is...
It's 300 x 300mm so not too bad. Should have used MDF for it's forgiveness, but thought I'd wing it with ply from Bunnings

Re: Perth Curtin University Robofair 2015
Ok, looks like I 'm going to be back by Sunday now, so what is the plan of attack with this year? I don't have much new stuff to show, as the XYZCarve I made i too big to fit in the car! I did make a plywood case for my Pi powered SDR, but it's not finished yet. I can bring it anyway. I was hoping t...

Pi Update Breaks WiFi
Hello fellow followers, If you happen to do the latest "Jessie" update (or use PPAs from Jessie) you might find your Wifi won't work with wicd-curses properly any more. This is because it changes the /etc/network/interfaces file from this: auto wlan0 allow-hotplug wlan0 iface wlan0 inet dh...
